Creepy! Thanks for sharing this, I think a lot of people take for granted that we don’t really know about people that we meet online. It takes time to develop a relationship with anybody to really get to know them. I never had any experiences like this, but I have experience in marketing so I’m familiar with the social media world not to say all people are bad on social media. I just steer clear of close relationships with any of them. I’ve seen the fraud and mental illness, closely. I just followed your podcast.

You're so right! I think social media culture creates a lot of parasocial relationships and it's easy to think that those are real. Even easier when you have similarities around things like culture or marginalised identities (as was the case for me in these situations). Granted, I've made some amazing friends online but they took time to build and grow. Thanks for reading and for following the podcast!!

That’s horrible! Did you get your work back or block the person from profiting from it?? Sorry this happened and thanks for sharing.

I wouldn’t have thought about love-bombing in the professional environment but it makes sense! I’ve met people whose actions made me feel uncomfortable with all the praise and over enthusiasm.

Thank you for reading and for asking 🫶🏾 Yes, thankfully! I was able to send a cease and desist notice so that they couldn't use any of my IP or information.

I think professional love-bombing flies under the radar because it's not as easy to spot and there's not a lot of info on it in the context of work relationships. So I'm glad that this could help add to that awareness.

I have definitely fallen victim to work-based love bombing and I’m honestly just now making it back into the “trust pool” 😅😳 I had literally had a product of my own creation held hostage from me at the point when I finally decided to create some much needed boundaries. 🤦🏽‍♀️ needless to say a great lesson had been earned and that is to definitely set boundaries from the start no matter how much of a “spiritual fanatic” i may have by my side 😳💛

Oh my whattt 😳😳 I'm so sorry that you went through this experience Luna!! What's crazy to me is how often people use spirituality as a way to disguise their red flaggy behaviour. Boundaries are an absolute must
